didn't care about anything else, she would strike. Crush his balls. Grab his knife. Rip him open.
It would've worked. It would've been great.
But she'd stayed under the Jeep thinking about it and was still there, savoring the fantasy, when Doug showed up with Lou.
It's probably a good thing I didn't try, she told herself. Something might've gone wrong. And this way I can get all three of them. Without any risk.
They were a block ahead of her, riding abreast up the middle of the street.
The noise of their engines should keep them from hearing her approach.
She pressed down harder on the gas pedal and felt the surge of speed press her back into the seat. The three boys on their choppers grew. Lou, on the right, didn't have a shirt on. Maureen grinned as she imagined how the pavement would shred his skin. But she steered for Buddy. The Jeep wasn't wide enough to take down all three at once, and she wanted to nail Buddy on the first pass. He rode between the other two. Smash him down. Maybe get Doug at the same time, then swerve to the right and try for Lou.
The distance closed.
Four car lengths separated Maureen from her quarry. Then three, then two.
Buddy glanced back over his shoulder.
'Adios, bastard!' Maureen yelled, and floored the accelerator.
