'We can't depend on that,' Cassy said, stepping toward the front of the group. She smiled at John, then turned to scan the others. 'We've got to take care of ourselves.' |

John raised a hand to regain their attention. 'I found out something else. The madness isn't permanent. Once the rain has been washed off, the people apparently become normal again. Now, we've got several of them tied up in here. Those who haven't been disabled can help us defend this place if we clean them up. So let's form a group and take them into the kitchen.' |
