'Have fun, you two,' he said, and followed Lynn toward the door. 'We shouldn't be very late.'
Kara watched them. When they reached the foyer, she waved.
'You might want to put the chain on after we're gone,' John called. He opened the door and followed Lynn outside.
As the door began to swing shut, Kara shouted, 'THEY'RE GONE! LET'S PARTY!'
Denise heard a burst of laughter from John. Then the door bumped shut.
'I'll go ahead and commit so we can look at the tape. Or do you want to play some Mario?'
'Maybe later. I'll go and put on the chain.'
As she started to get up, Kara said, 'I'll do it,' leaped to her feet and ran for the door.

'I'm glad to see your mood's improved,' Lynn said as John backed his car out of the driveway.
'Looking forward to a good dinner.' He steered onto the street and started forward. 'We could've had that at home, of course, and without the hassle. I imagine Kara and Denise will have themselves a great time.'
'So will we.'
